With the sound of the shovels going through the dirt, the Arvada Fire District officially began construction on Station 7 and Station 8 on Monday, October 29, 2007. The Groundbreaking ceremony for both stations took place at the Station 8 building site located at 6385 Quaker Street. Station 7 will be built at 8027 Alkire Street. These two stations are currently located in one building at 6651 Indiana Street.
The funding for these new stations and the new personnel that were hired to staff Station 7 was approved by the voters in November of 2005. The new locations will allow us to have better response times for our ever-growing western population.
The stations were designed by Allred and Associates and will be built by TC2 Construction Company. The stations will be state of the art in both design and function and will be a great addition to the neighborhoods that they will occupy.
Construction is expected to begin on Station 8 on Thursday, November 1, 2007 with an estimated completion date of Fall of 2008. Construction is expected to begin on December 1, 2007 on Station 7 with an estimated completion date of Fall of 2008. Ribbon cutting ceremonies and an Open House will be held at both sites. We will will keep a journal of the construction progress on this page.
